Dan Hawkwood is an Associate Lawyer at the firm of Beaumont Church LLP in Calgary, Alberta. Dan comes from a long line of farmers and ranchers in the Calgary area. He was raised on his family’s cattle ranch northeast of Cochrane and went to school there. Like most farm kids, Dan spent much of his youth driving tractors, chasing cows, fixing fences, and generally helping out around the ranch.
Dan received his undergraduate degree in Ancient and Medieval History at the University of Calgary in 2007. He attended law school at the Schulich School of Law at Dalhousie University in Halifax, Nova Scotia, and graduated with a J.D. in May of 2011. He articled at the firm of Boyne Clarke LLP in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia, and was called to the Nova Scotia bar on June 8, 2012. Daniel joined Beaumont Church LLP in August of 2012 as an Associate and was subsequently called to the Alberta bar on September 17, 2012.
Dan enjoys the diversity in his clientele and assists Albertans from many walks of life, from small rural communities to major urban centres. He still enjoys going home to the farm to help out, which is a good excuse to go hunting or horseback riding. Dan also loves to travel, play golf, squash, and tennis, and plays lead guitar in a local rock band.
